A 60 minute site-specific, immersive, performance art piece, “Blacktor” provokes thought, and encourages discourse on cultural differences. Cory Gibson is the sole performer using his body to transcend words & boundaries, to reflect the real experiences of the minority.

Sitting at the intersection of politics, research, and art “Blacktor” poses urgent and signifigant questions reflective of our time in society:

How do we actually see things, truly see things?

What is the distinction between eye sight & heart sight?

Is the mask concious or unconcious?

Where do our masks originate from?

Performance activism is a proven, research-backed tool designed to bypass filters, reach new audiences, build empathy and incite action.
